Inherited Astrology Signs (Updated)

With a time of birth correction for Lesa and new birth details for Megan, Paul and Megan’s new baby Hunter, and Susan, I have now updated the table of signs that was published in an earlier post:

Person Rising Moon Sun
Jade Aquarius Aquarius Pisces
Dylan Sagittarius Libra Aquarius
Cameron Taurus Capricorn Scorpio
Lesa Gemini Aquarius Scorpio
Mother Aquarius Cancer Capricorn
Father Aries Gemini Aries
Darren Taurus Gemini Aquarius
Christopher Aquarius Gemini Virgo
Paul Libra Pisces Pisces
Megan Gemini Virgo Taurus
Hunter Scorpio Gemini Aries
Susan Gemini Virgo Aquarius
Grandmother Aquarius Pisces Taurus

It is interesting to see a second sign pattern emerging from this new and corrected birth data. Lesa’s corrected time of birth has changed her rising sign from a very early degree of Cancer to Gemini, which just happens to be the Moon sign of her father and two of her three brothers. Interestingly, the new baby, Hunter also has a Gemini Moon sign too. What was surprising was that Gemini was also the rising sign of Megan and Lesa’s half sister, Susan.

Once again, we see that Susan’s Sun sign is Aquarius, and as I reported on my previous post, this sign has most likely emanated from Lesa’s Grandmother’s rising sign and Susan’s biological mother, who also has an Aquarius rising sign.

Hunter shares his ascending sign, Scorpio, with Lesa’s Sun sign (Hunter’s aunty) and his Aries Sun sign with his Grandfather.

I would say that Megan’s addition to the family (Paul’s wife) has brought in her Aquarius ascendant (keeping that sign in the family line) and her Virgo Moon sign she shares with Christopher’s Sun sign.

It is still very interesting (to me anyway), how some zodiac signs continue to be inherited down family lines.

Bowling and new video camera

About a week ago, I was fortunate enough to have purchased a new Sony HandyCam Full HD video camera, model HDR-CX350, with tripod. There are so many features, I cannot list them all but here are the main ones: 32GB flash memory (no hard disk, therefore no moving parts) and 10 hours video time, wide angle lens, Full HD 1080, 7.1 Megapixels, shoots both videos and pictures, slow motion replays, and more… You can select to use the Full HD, SD or others formats for any video.

I had fun with it last night when I videoed part of my tenpin bowling practice session. I only play once per week and do not practise much but I wanted to see how my new camera worked in a bowling centre. I am happy to say that I am pleased with the camera and its output.

I have uploaded two of the videos to YouTube. I cheated a bit because both of these videos are strikes but they always feel great when you get them! Here are the links:

Inherited Astrology Signs

Yesterday, I was running an astrological chart for Jade, my niece Lesa’s youngest child – it was her 5th birthday! I simply wanted to give Lesa Jade’s rising sign (Ascendant), her Moon sign and her Sun sign, the latter was already known as most people know their Sun signs. Sun signs are also known as Star signs, such as Aries, Taurus, Libra, and so on. The Sun signs are the things that are usually published in newspapers and magazines.

After running the chart for Jade, I then ran the charts for Lesa’s other child, Dylan, as well as her husband Cameron, again just listing the rising sign, Moon sign and Sun sign. That process in itself was an interesting exercise but I began to see one or two astrology signs repeating so I thought I would extend this exercise to Lesa’s mother (my sister), her father and her three brothers. I began to see a pattern emerging where the rising sign, Moon sign and Sun signs were mostly shared amongst the family members. While I had known about these sort of shared sign patterns before, I had not bothered to study our family, so what a surprise!

Here are the results:

Person Rising Moon Sun
Jade Aquarius Aquarius Pisces
Dylan Sagittarius Libra Aquarius
Cameron Taurus Capricorn Scorpio
Lesa Cancer Aquarius Scorpio
Mother Aquarius Cancer Capricorn
Father Aries Gemini Aries
Brother1 Taurus Gemini Aquarius
Brother2 Aquarius Gemini Virgo
Brother3 Libra Pisces Pisces
Grandmother Aquarius Pisces Taurus

In looking at this array of signs, we can see a prolifieration of Aquarius running through the family and its seems that it is coming from Lesa’s Grandmother.

Since Lesa’s Grandmother is my mother, today, I thought I would look at my side of the family, and here is what I found:

Person Rising Moon Sun
Father Sagittarius Pisces Cancer
Mother Aquarius Pisces Taurus
Me Sagittarius Scorpio Virgo
Brother Aquarius Sagittarius Capricorn
Sister Aquarius Cancer Capricorn
Son&Daughter’s Mother Scorpio Aries Virgo
Daughter Capricon Aries Capricorn
Son Sagittarius Libra Cancer
Grand Daughter Libra Gemini Cancer
Daughter’s Husband Capricorn Sagittarius Cancer

From the above table, I can see that on my side of the family Sagittarius, Capricorn and Cancer being repeated, with some Aquarius in my brother and sister, so my side is slightly different from Lesa’s side of the family, as you would probably expect.

While this is not an exhaustive study of astrological signs that are passed down through the family (there are many other planets as well as the ones stated above), nor even a full scientific study, nonetheless I did find some repetition in some signs so the results of this exercise ended up being quite interesting.

Bowling News

I have not bowled for a few years, since I left a four-man team I was in at the Boronia Bowl in Melbourne back in December 2008. We moved to the Gold Coast in September 2008.

It was not until November 2009 that I got the “bug” again and went and played a few practice games one night at the Burleigh Superbowl at Burleigh Heads, near where we live. The scores were horrible but it felt good to get back into it again. I practised a few more times in November and then I was offered (and accepted) to act as a roving substitute in the Thursday night league, a three-man team league.

This league has a large number of juniors and about the same number of adults, so it is a different league to what I have been used to in the past. Mid-January this year, I decided to become a regular member of the league playing every Thursday night and joined a team that did not have a regular third player. When I joined the team, we were second last on the ladder but after a few weeks, we are now in 8th position, only 9 points from the 3rd and 4th places, so we are not far behind. I hope that we can get into the top 5 on the ladder for my first season on the team.

I have not been able to crack a 200 game at Burleigh until two weeks ago, when I rolled a 215, out of the three games per week.  Last week, I again rolled a 200 game so things a looking up. My average is just under 170 so my target this year is to obtain a consistent average of 180+. Though this is down on what I was doing in Melbourne about 5 or 6 years ago, I will be happy to at least achieve the 180+ level again.

I will keep you posted on how things develop over the coming weeks.

Introducing my new blog site

I have now entered the blogosphere with the release of my new personal website, which you are now reading.

I have decided on and created a site where the blog is the central item and have added some other stuff about me as well. I created this website using the WordPress software system (free) and used the K2 template (also free) with modifications, mainly the colors. I also designed the header with the GIMP image program (free) and uploaded the image as a custom header. This is the first time I have used the GIMP image program in the creation of the header for this site as well as my other website, Web Breakthroughs.

I must admit, that when I got to the “About Me” page, I had to really think about what to put here. I could have used dot points but I ended up using text. While it might be a little bit long, it is hoped that it does provide a snapshot of who I am and what I have done.

I have added a Photos tab to this site and intend uploading some soon.

Over time, I will be reporting on some of my favorite topics, which will be listed in the Categories list in the sidebar. If you are inclined, please drop me a comment on any of these posts!

Well, that’s about it for now. I must move on to other things that must be done today.
